 "Leave work at work and home at home"

This was Peter's paradigm when he began his career as a forest engineer  for a private logging company on beautiful Vancouver  Island, British Columbia. 

And this worked. Until it didn't. 

Peter's mission is to help high-performers, professionals, and leaders take a wholistic approach to their lives and their teams, recognizing the demands of the modern world. His philosophy is that leadership starts within by taking charge of one's own health, energy, and leading intentionally with daily disciplines that compound into personal and team results over time.

As a high-performer, Peter was quickly moved into Leadership positions throughout his professional career. Sometimes he was given management training. Often times he was not. Rarely was he provided with leadership training. And he sees the same pattern emerging for most professionals. And it is costing them their time, energy, health, well-being and relationships.  This was the path that he walked, and had to emerge from.  

And that is why Peter founded Taurus Coaching and built the Apex Leadership Method - to provide guidance, training, support, accountability and networking opportunities to ensure other professionals are taking a wholistic and proactive approach for themselves, their lives and their teams.

At Taurus Coaching, we help clients gain clarity, develop strategies, and build the skills to become confident and inspirational leaders. Our Method focuses on establishing daily disciplines around time and energy, leading to increased productivity, better health, and stronger relationships.

Before starting Taurus Coaching, Peter spent 6 years as a Regional Protection Manager for the Yukon Wildfire Service, where he built and led a wildfire region. He operated on many large-scale campaign fires and incidents in various Incident Management Team roles, developing expertise in leadership and team management under high-stress and volatile environments.

Prior to moving to Yukon, he spent 5 years as a Field Engineer, Professional Forester and got exposure to Production Supervision for Western Forest Products in the corporate forest industry. Working with a high-functioning and results-driven team, he managed contracts and worked in production supervision roles, honing his skills in project management, team leadership, and results-driven performance.

Peter's diverse experience across various industries has given him unique insights into the demands and challenges of leadership and team management. He has experienced and seen firsthand the toll that high-performance roles can take on individuals and their relationships.
